Legal & General Investment Management has appointed Simon Thompson as chief operating officer.
Thompson joined LGIM in 2011 as head of product strategy and development. Prior to this he was a partner and the chief operating officer of Millgate Capital.
He will report to chief executive officer Mark Zinkula.
LGIM has also appointed Andrew Hitchings as head of large UK clients. Hitchings joins from State Street Global Investors and will report to head of Europe and Middle East Hugh Cutler.
