London-based Hermes Investment Management has appointed former Odey Asset Management CEO David Stewart to the role of chairman of the board.
Stewart assumes the position from Paul Spencer, who has served as Hermes chairman since 2011. The appointment will become effective on April 1, 2016, according to a company statement.
Stewart is currently a non-executive director of Hermes Investment Management. He joined the board in April 2015 after spending nine years with Crispin Odey’s Odey Asset Management, where was CEO and, more recently, a non-executive director. He stepped down from the top slot at Odey in late 2012.
Hermes manages more than £21 billion in assets on behalf of more than 300 clients worldwide, deployed across equities, fixed income, alternatives and real estate.
